Tim Evans played two seasons for the Mulerider Baseball team from 1990-91. In his final season, Evans helped the Muleriders advance to the NAIA World Series that year.

An outfielder in his time for the Muleriders, Evans was a career .374 hitter with 38 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 61 RBIs and 106 runs scored. Owning a career slugging percentage of .582, Evans also achieved a robust .481 career on-base percentage. That amount of time on the base paths also led to Evans being a threat to steal as he swiped 64 bases for his career.

Evans’ best year was his last in a Mulerider uniform as he hit .422 (86-for-204) with 72 runs scored, 27 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, and 40 RBIs. His 86 hits that year tied a single-season program record and remains tied for the eighth-most at SAU. Additionally, his 27 doubles set a program record and is currently the second-most in a season.

His stellar season campaign resulted in Evans taking home numerous post-season accolades. That year, he would be touted as an All-AIC, All-District 17, All-Area V, and All-America performer.

Following his time as a Mulerider, Evans signed as a free agent with the Houston Astros and played three seasons in their farm system from 1992-94. In his minor league career, Evans hit .264 with 40 doubles, 14 triples, seven home runs and 97 RBIs.
