Grant Marshall of Magnolia served Southern Arkansas University as public address announcer for 27 years for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and for the baseball and softball teams from 1980 through 2007. He also ran the time clock for five years in football.

He also was the public address announcer for 12 years at Stamps Public Schools for football, and helped work the public address system at Magnolia Public Schools for four years in football, and boy’s and girl’s basketball.

Grant was a student at SAU in 1976-81 and completed a degree in BAS for applied studies. He was on the SAU alumni board for eight years between 2000-2008.

In 1981, he was selected among the Who’s Who Students among American college and university students. Grant was appointed by Arkansas governor Mike Beebe to serve on Technology Equipment Revolving Loan Fund Committee that runs from 2009 through 2012.

Marshall worked at radio stations KVMA and KMSL in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He served as a disc jockey at KVMA and news director at KMSL.

His parents, Don and Katie Marshall, taught at SAU, Don for 20 years in Educational Media, and Katie for 46 years in physical education.
