ADA, Okla. - Southern Arkansas wrapped up their 2024 Cross Country season at the Great American Championships on October 26.
The Mulerider Women finished their 5k with a total time of 1:41:01 and 184 points, putting them in seventh place. They recorded five top-60 finishers out of the 144 runners and leading the squad was senior Logan Warren, who crossed the finish line with a time of 19:34.9, placing 23rd. Shortly after, Ava Zindler finished her race in 29th at 19:51.0 and rounded out the team's top-30 finishers. Madyson Pence and Savanah Esterline crossed the finish line with a time difference of one second and placed 47th and 48th respectively. The last Mulerider to place within the top-60 was Rylee Robinson as her time of 20:54.0 put her in 59th.
Freshman Cheyenne Olson wrapped up her first season as a Mulerider finishing the race in 84th with a time of 21:52.3. Cantley Gosdin recorded a time of 22:19.3 and finished in 92nd. Alyzah McGlasson (112th | 23:32.9), Emma Dudley (117 | 23:53.3), and Marlene Soto (130 | 25:20.5) closed out the 2024 season for the Mulerider Women.
The Mulerider Men finished their 8k with a cumulative time of 2:17:38 and collected 172 points which put them in sixth place. Wesley Maxwell ran the fastest of the Mulerider Men and finished in 27th with a time of 26:56.3. Only a few seconds behind Maxwell was Enrico Tapia with a time of 27:04.9 who came in 32nd. Lyndon Orr finished the race in 39th and recorded a time of 27:37.3. Freshman Fintan Lehman rounded out the team's top-50 finishers as he placed in 49th with a time of 27:57.0 and five seconds behind at 28:02.3 was Isaac Gass placing in 52nd. Brandon Escobar finished the last race of the 2024 season in 59th crossing the finish line with a time of 28:20.8 while Johnny Hart came in 63rd with a time of 28:54.1.
Gary Smith (68th | 28:59.7), Hez Morris (73 | 29:09.0), Hunter Pye (76th | 29:21.1), Charles Patton (89th | 30:09.3), and Owen Shafer (101th | 31:19.1) closed out the 2024 season for the Mulerider Men.
