Muleriders cap off cross country season at NCAA DII Central Region Championships

JOPLIN, Mo. — Mulerider Cross Country competed in their final meet of the fall season, as Southern Arkansas took to the the Show-Me State for the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships, hosted by Missouri Southern State. For the Mulerider Women, the group ran a 6k run at 10:00 AM and the men ran a 10k at 11:15 AM. 

The Mulerider Women competed in their first 6k running this season. The unit capped off its campaign with a 30th-place finish as a team with 875 points. 

The team's lone senior, Ava Zindler, wrapped up her career leading the Mulerider Women with her 156th-place finish after recording a time of 24:13.63 in her second trip to the regional championship. 

Nearly just 26 seconds behind Zindler was Rylee Robinson in 168th. Robinson, a sophomore, finished her second trip to the championship with a time of 24:39.73, just 19 seconds behind her time last season. 

Only four spots behind her was junior Rachel Solano in 172nd, after recording a time of 24:51.39, the native of Katy, Texas set a personal record for her first 6k running of her career. 

Other Muleriders to finish the 6k included Kailee Carr (202nd | 26:06.12 PR), Kaylie Goad (219th | 27:05.88 PR), and Savanah Esterline (220th | 27:08.78). 

The final finisher for SAU inside the top-200 was junior Cantley Gosdin, as the native of Monticello, Arkansas ran a time of 25:30.45 for her first running of a 6k. 

Southern Arkansas' Men's squad finished off their season in 27th-place after the unit finished its first 10k running this season, and the first since last season's regional championship. 

Finishing inside the race's top-100 was senior Wesley Maxwell. The native of Magnolia, Texas capped off his cross country career with a 98th-place finish in the running after crossing the finish line with a time of 33:23.31 earning him a personal record. 

SAU's next finisher ended up being fellow senior Lyndon Orr, with the native of Wylie, Texas recording a personal best time of 34:03.89 to place him in 129th-place. 

Next up inside of the top 150 was Fintan Lehmann. The sophomore wrapped up the season in 148th after clocking in a time of 34:34.99 for a new PR. 

Other Muleriders to finish the 10k included Jack Landrum (165th | 34:57.61 PR), Joseph Uc (185th | 36:22.78 PR), Diego Moya (187th | 36:24.77), and Hez Morris (200th | 38:57.55 PR).
