MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Mulerider Cross Country 2026 season is right around the corner, and the Blue and Gold are set for a six-meet campaign with the unit hosting the annual Lois Davis Invitational once again in mid-September.
The layout for the Mulerider Men and Women is much of the same from a year ago, as the group will get the season underway in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, at Ouachita Baptist, as Southern Arkansas will compete in the Bob Gravett Invitational on September 12
th.
The following weekend, the Blue and Gold are back at home, as SAU will host the 15
th Annual Lois Davis Invitational, with the meet scheduled for September 18
th. Last season at the home meet, the Mulerider Women were led by senior
Ava Zindler, who finished in 11
th-place. Returning for the 15
th LDI, now junior
Rylee Robinson finished in 14
th for her last time out at home. For the men, SAU was led by senior
Wesley Maxwell, with the Magnolia, Texas native finishing in second. Back for his junior year,
Fintan Lehman was the highest-placing returner for the Mulerider Men, as the Tomball, Texas native finished in sixth at the Lois Davis.
The squads will remain in the Natural State, with the Muleriders heading up to Northwest Arkansas to run in the highly-regarded Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas on October 3
rd.
After a week off, Southern Arkansas will be back in action in the Lone Star State, with the unit going to take action in the Dallas Baptist University Old Glory Gallop in Dallas, Texas on October 17
th.
After a few weeks to rest up, SAU will shift gears to compete in the Great American Conference Championships, this year in Alva, Oklahoma. The conference championships are scheduled to take place on November 7
th.
Lastly on the schedule, the Blue and Gold will head up north to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships on November 21
st.
