Mulerider Cross Country Set for GAC Championship Run

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – In his second season as head coach for Mulerider Country, James Bowlin's group is set for its final guaranteed meet of the 2025 season with the Blue and Gold traveling to Monticello, Arkansas, for the 2025 GAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas-Monticello. The meet is set to take place this Saturday (October 25), with the women's meet to start at 8:30 AM and the men to take place at 9:30 AM.
 
Both Mulerider groups are coming off a weekend off after having just competed in the Lone Star State for the 2025 Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop in Fort Worth, Texas. For the Muleriders, the group used the outing as a way to tune up for the upcoming championships in Monticello.
 
For the Mulerider Women, the group saw three runners compete, with Rylee Robinson leading the way for the group in 173rd amongst 340 competitors. The sophomore capped off her run with a time of 20:39.61.
 
In the 2024 conference championships, the Mulerider Women finished the outing in seventh place among the 12 teams that competed. Making their way back to the league championship after competing in the meet last season includes Ava Zindler (2024: 29th | 19:51.0), Madyson Pence (2024: 47th | 20:20.24), Savanah Esterline (48th | 20:20.95), Rylee Robinson (2024: 59th | 20:54.0), Cheyenne Olson (2024: 84th | 21:52.3), Cantley Gosdin (2024: 92nd | 22:19.3), and Emma Dudley (2024: 117th | 23:53.3).
 
Making their initial appearance at the conference championship meet are Kailee Carr, Faith Gibbs, Kaylie Goad, and Isabella Sandoval.
 
The Mulerider Men were showcased by six of the roster's runners, as sophomore runner Hunter Pye finished first for the Blue and Gold with his newest PR of 27:08.85, earning him the 203rd spot among the 403 runners in the event.
 
For last season's GAC championships, the Mulerider Men capped off their season with a sixth-place finish among the eight teams in the meet. Back for the men at the GAC championships include Wesley Maxwell (2024: 27th | 26:56.3), Lyndon Orr (2024: 39th | 27:37.3), Fintan Lehman (2024: 49th | 27:57.0), Isaac Gass (2024: 52nd | 28:02.3), Brandon Escobar (2024: 59th | 28:20.8), Johnny Hart (2024: 63rd | 28:54.1), Gary Smith (2024: 68th | 28:59.7), Hez Morris (2024: 73rd | 29:09.0), Hunter Pye (2024: 76th | 29:21.1), and Charles Patton (2024: 89th | 30:09.3).
 
Looking forward to competing in their inaugural GAC championship meet are Jack Landrum, Myson McFall, Zach McMillon, Diego Moya, and Gary Smith.
