Muleriders set ten new personal bests at Old Glory Gallop

GRAND PRAIRE, Texas – Mulerider Cross Country made the venture to Grand Prairie, Texas for the Old Glory Gallop in preparation for the Great American Conference Championships coming up in the next couple weeks.
 
MEN's CROSS COUNTRY
Southern Arkansas placed 18th in the 29-team field which included, East Central, Dallas Baptist, Harding, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Baptist, Western New Mexico, UT-Tyler, Texas State, Texas Wesleyan, Cameron, Newman, UT-Dallas, Hill College, Concordia (Tex.), Southwestern (Tex.), McMurry, Mid-America Christian, North Central Texas College, Jacksonville College, Mary-Hardin Baylor, Hardin-Simmons, Dallas University, Schreiner, Arkansas-Monticello, and Sul Ross St.
 
Making their debut at the Old Glory Gallop, Southern Arkansas' Wesley Maxwell recorded the fastest finish at 108th after he recorded a time of 26:23.1 for a brand-new personal record in the 8k.
 
Junior Jorge Sanchez placed 133rd with a time of 26:51.4. Charles Patton set a personal best in the Lone Star state with a 26:55.4 to earn 135th. Muleriders Isaac Gass (27:03.9 PR), Pedro Cervantes (27:05.3 PR), and Brandon Escobar (27:05.9 PR) all set new personal records while they placed 140th, 141st, and 142nd in the competition. Freshman Joseph Uc set a new 8k personal best with 27:17.2 to earn 154th. Joseph Garay placed 181st with a new PR of 27:46.7.
 
WOMEN's CROSS COUNTRY
The Muleriders placed 18th in the 33-squad course that included Dallas Baptist, Oklahoma Baptist, East Central, Harding, Texas State, Midwestern State, Texas Wesleyan, Oklahoma Christian, Cameron, St. Edward's, Oklahoma City, UT-Tyler, McMurry, North Central Texas College, Mary-Hardin Baylor, UT-Dallas, Newman, Western New Mexico, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southern Nazarene, Hardin-Simmons, Southwestern (Tex.), Central Oklahoma, Jacksonville College, Hill College, UT-Permian Basin, Southwestern Oklahoma, Dallas University, Concordia (Tex.), Sul Ross St. Arkansas-Monticello, and UNT-Dallas.
 
Leading SAU's pack was junior Logan Warren when she placed 43rd in the 287-runner field. The Katy, Texas native set a new career best in the 5k with an 18:52.6 official time.
 
Freshman Rachel Solano keeps succeeding past old PRs as she placed 64th in the race with a time of 19:19.6. Senior Alyzah McGlasson placed 102nd in Grand Prairie after she recorded her best 5k time of the season at 19:54.3. Ava Zindler continues to get back in gear as she improved her CPF time of 22:25 to 20:56.5 at the OGG. Cantley Gosdin recorded a new personal best in the Lone Star State as she ran a 21:04.7. Angel Redmond finished the competition with a time of 22:13 (fastest time this season). J'aime Brown completed the race with a time of 26:35.1 (fasted time this season).
