RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Muleriders have concluded the 2023 Cross Country season after returning home from the Great American Championships on October 21. The Southern Arkansas Women completed their regular season as the seventh-place squad in the league after they recorded 225 points and a total time of 1:43.08 in the 5k. The Mulerider Men finished their season as the sixth-ranked team in the conference after they scored a total of 170 points and a team time of 2:14.35 in the 8k.
WOMEN's CROSS COUNTRY
Southern Arkansas recorded three top-70 finishers at the competition out of the 141 runners Leading the course for the Muleriders was the junior
Logan Warren after she made her debut in Russellville, Arkansas finishing 44
th with a time of 19:39.7 that earned her a score of 35.
Rachel Solano finished her first GAC Championship in 64
th after she ran a time of 20:25.5 to earn 43 points.
Ava Zindler made her return to the league championship by placing 69
th to add 46 points with her time of 20:45.3. Finishing in 75
th with a time of 20:53.4 was senior
Alyzah McGlasson. Cantly Gosdin made her championship debut by placing 87
th with a time of 21:24.0.
Angel Redmond placed 94
th a time of 21:39.5 and
J'aime Brown in 136
th with 25:56.2.
MEN's CROSS COUNTRY
The Southern Arkansas Men accounted for five top-60 runners among the 109-runner course.
Wesley Maxwell led the Muleriders in his second-career GAC Championship after he ran a time of 26:10.2 to place 28
th an add just 25 points to the team's score. The sophomore's time broke Maxwell's previous PR in the 8k by 13 seconds while also besting his time from last year's championship by 1:09.5. In his first year,
Giovani Diaz finished in 35
th at the championship after he recorded a personal best time of 26:21.5.
Charles Patton completed his first GAC Championship in 47
th with a recorded time of 27:02.6. The junior
Jorge Sanchez bested his time from the 2022 league championship by 7.2 seconds for a time of 27:26.7 to earn 55
th.
Brandon Escobar finalized his time at 27:33.7 to finish in 57
th for his first championship meet. Other Muleriders to finish included,
