Russellville, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced their weekly awards, and for the third time this season, SAU Cross Country Runner
Lexington Hilton received the conference's weekly accolade.
The freshmen from Green Forest paced the Muleriders this past weekend to a second-place team finish at the 9
th-annual Lois Davis Invitational. Hilton turned in a career-best 8K time of 24:55.8, finishing second overall and only three seconds behind winner Mathias Cheboi of Grambling.
Hilton becomes the third Mulerider since 2011, male or female, to receive three or more weekly conference honors in a season, joining Carli Langley, who did it five times in 2014, and Mickey Hammer, who won three in a row back in 2012.
Hilton, who has won runner of the week three of the five weeks this season, also becomes the third-most decorated Mulerider in the GAC era in terms of weekly accolades, behind Langley (six) and Hammer (five).
Hilton and the Muleriders are in action next weekend in Arkadelphia as they race at the Great American Conference Championships, hosted by Ouachita Baptist.
