PUEBLO, Colo. – The NCAA has announced those who have met the qualifications for the 2025 NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and from Mulerider Track and Field,
Diamond Brunn and
Keith Smith have both met those requirements as the two student-athletes ranked in the top-22 of their respective events.
Keith qualified for the National competition in the triple jump with his season, career, and program record of 15.28 meters (50' 1.75"). The junior jumper set the mark in the outdoor season's opening meet at the Mississippi College Spring Classic, and did so with 0.6 meters per second wind going against him. The jumping record broke a nearly six-year-old program record that was set by Aurthur Jeffrey in 2019 (15.24m | 50'). Out of all the triple jump marks in NCAA DII, Smith's mark is the 21
st-best.
Diamond Brunn's qualification for the national meet came into play while in Nacogdoches, Texas, for the Carl Kight Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin State. The junior from Killeen, Texas earned the trip to the Centennial State after she surpassed her own program record and became the only Mulerider Women's long jumper with a mark of 20 feet or more. Brunn's mark listed at 6.10m (20' 0.25") and saw barely any tailwind assistance. While it doesn't count towards the national qualifiers, Brunn's most recent jump came out at 6.24m (10' 5.75"), but saw assistance by a 4.4 mps tailwind.
The two Mulerider athletes will be traveling to Pueblo, Colorado for the meet that is scheduled to start May 22 and will conclude on May 24.
