MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Mulerider Track & Field will be heading to the Lone Star State for the first and only time this outdoor season, as the Blue and Gold will be competing at the highly well-regarded Carl Kight Invitational at Stephen F. Action on the track will take place around 5:55 PM, with the distance carnival taking place right after the national anthem. To start the carnival, the women's and men's 1500m B sections will take place, as the carnival is set to end around 9:50 PM-10:00 PM with the Women's and Men's 10,000m.

Competition will ramp back up on Friday with the women's and men's triple jump, high jump, and shot put, all starting at 11:30 AM. Sprinting events will take place not long after, with the National Anthem commencing right before the events begin with the 4x100m relays (women and men) at 12:00 PM. Following SFA's senior recognition, the final event of the meet will be the 4x400m (women and men) at 5:15 PM.

Coming off Spring Break, the Muleriders' last outing was at the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana. In that meet, Southern Arkansas saw two program records set by two seniors, one for each team. For the women, Jordan Collins recorded a new 400m program record, a week after setting the new 200m record, as the Huntsville, Texas native finished with a time of 54.00 and acquired a provisional mark. For the men, Keith Smith outclassed his competitors in the triple jump, with the senior from Jefferson, Texas, recording a jump of 15.69m (51' 5.75"). The mark set a new program record and met the provisional standard. Collins' mark ranks fourth in the nation, while Smith's sits at second.
