INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division II has released its qualifiers for the 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are scheduled for May 21-23 in Emporia, Kansas. Student-athletes who were accepted into the competition needed to have one of the top-22 marks in the nation for their respective events.
For the Muleriders, three members were named to the qualifying list, as
Keith Smith,
Diamond Brunn, and
Jordan Collins all met the requirements to compete for individual national championships next weekend.
For Smith, the senior from Jefferson, Texas, currently ranks third in the nation for the Triple Jump. Keith's distance to place him in third is also the SAU Men's Track & Field program record in the event, sitting at 15.77m (51' 9"). Most recently, Smith recorded an All-GAC First Team plaudit at the Great American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as he placed third in the event. Keith will begin competition on Saturday (May 23), as the Men's Triple Jump is scheduled to begin at 2:15 PM.
For Brunn, the senior from Killeen, Texas, comes off a much-needed last chance meet, with Diamond recording a season-high of 6.11m in the Long Jump while in Pittsburg, Kansas, last weekend. Her leap assisted her in solidifying her chances for another trip to the Outdoor National Championships, as she currently ranks 18
th nationally. Diamond will begin competition on Thursday (May 21), as the Women's Long Jump is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM.
For Collins, the senior sprinter from Huntsville, Texas, will be making her national championship debut, following a program record and individual GAC championship time of 23.50 in the 200m at the Great American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her mark currently has her sitting at 16
th nationally. Jordan will begin competition on Friday (May 22), as the first round of the Women's 200m is scheduled to begin at 5:45 PM.
