RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its weekly tennis honors on Wednesday, recognizing outstanding performances across the league. Among those honored was sophomore Amelie Gindl, who was named the GAC Co-Player of the Week. This marks the second time this season that Gindl has received the Player of the Week honor.
Gindl's latest recognition comes from her undefeated week of competition. Competing in both singles and doubles play, she secured victories at the top of the singles lineup and partnered with Maria Fiacan to claim wins at line two doubles.
In singles action, Gindl faced two highly ranked opponents and emerged victorious in both matchups. She squared off against #14 Eleanor Coleman from Rockhurst, delivering a hard-fought 7-5, 6-1 victory. She continued her winning streak with another standout performance against #46 Marielena Muench from Northwest Missouri, winning 6-2, 6-3.
