ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Mulerider Women's Tennis started up Great American Conference play in Clark County, with their first of two matches in Arkadelphia this week. Southern Arkansas took on the Ouachita Baptist Tigers on the road and fell to the group with a final score of 4-3.
To start up, the Blue and Gold snatched the advantage in doubles play. The Muleriders were down 0-1 against the Tigers, as the group gained a point with a defaulted doubles match at line three. At line one, the Muleriders tied the match back up, as Roksana Kokocha and Taylor Conway defeated Na Zamora Caprirolo and Ruxandra Tolescu 6-3. SAU won the point after winning at line two with Jolina Mass and Isabella Lazzerini took down Marlee Bledsoe and Jenny Pfaefflin 6-2.
After the Muleriders went up 1-0, the Tigers had it tied back up with a defaulted singles match at line three. At line one, the Muleriders reclaimed the lead with Mass defeating Caprirolo 6-2, 6-2. After that, the only other points for SAU came at line five with Lazzerini overcoming Jaelyn Walker 6-1, 6-4. The Tigers went on to win the match after winning at lines two, four, and six.

Southern Arkansas' next round of action will be back in Arkadelphia on Saturday (Apr. 11), as the Muleriders will compete against the Henderson State Reddies at 12:00 PM.
