Jonesboro, Ark. – The Mulerider Men wrapped up their time at the Alumni Classic hosted by Arkansas State over the weekend as the group claimed 23 spots inside the top-ten and of those, Southern Arkansas earned nine top-five positions at the meet with one winner.
*The Men's 4x100 squad that consisted of
Johnny Woods,
Dezmand Bryant,
Keith Smith, and
Christian Johnson claimed second in the contest as the team finished with a time of 41.71.

Keith Smith ended up as the Mulerider Men's winner from the weekend as the sophomore did in fact win the triple jump event while in Northeast Arkansas with his leap of 47' 10" besting athletes from NCAA DI and DII. Smith's distance was about eight inches shy of his mark the previous weekend in Nacogdoches, but the Marshall, Texas product claimed first-place by at least 1' 9.5".

Brandon Sofi earned second in the 110m hurdles as the junior acquired a time of 15.04 and defeated athletes from NCAA Divisions I and II with 3.1 wind aid.
*Over at long jump,
Derrick Onyeador notched his spot at third as the junior made a leap of 22' 8.5" and defeated ten other competitors in the action.
*Alongside Smith in the triple jump,
Garrett Hughes implemented his jump of 43' 6.5" that placed him in fourth-place. Onyeador claimed fifth in the competition with his jump of 43' 1".

Ja'Kamron Zackery made top-ten in shot put, discus, and hammer throw in which he placed fifth in shot put and the hammer throw. At shot put, the junior from Magnolia, Arkansas recorded a distance of 49' 3.5" for his toss that placed him in fifth and defeated 18 other throwers from across NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA. Zackery in the hammer throw slung the weight for 165' 8" to finish in fifth-place once again in front of 11 other athletes.

Jason Patrick continues to record NCAA DII Provisional marks as he tossed for 168' 6" in the discus throw and claimed fifth-place among competition. Patrick also managed to earn sixth in the hammer throw behind Zackery with his launch of 152' 8".
*Korban McAuliffe broke his personal record as a Mulerider in the javelin throw as the senior heaved the javelin for 157' 1" and broke his old best by just over a yard. With the throw, McAuliffe third-place of the 14 athletes competing in the event.
