LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its week four rankings Tuesday morning with the Muleriders seeing themselves inside the top-25 once more as they make their fifth-straight appearance in the association's rankings, including preseason.
In the latest edition of the NFCA's nation leaders, Southern Arkansas has dropped one spot from 21
st to 22
nd among the top-25 teams in the country.
The Muleriders thus far have been seeded as such:

The Muleriders slight drop comes following the loss of their second played series in conference play in which they defeated the Harding Lady Bisons in game one on the weekend, but then fell to HU in games two and three on Saturday. SAU sits now at 13-6 overall with a Great American Conference record of 4-2 as they have swept one series prior to last weekend.
Southern Arkansas'
Sydney Ward pitched her third complete game for the spring as she allowed just four hits, one earned run, one walk, and recorded seven strikeouts against 26 batters in the first game. Ward suffered her second loss of the season as Harding recorded nine hits and walked four times with just one earned run tagged against Ward.
Morgan McAlexander tossed the final two frames allowing two hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Kamryn Moctezuma, in game one, was responsible for a batting average of 1.000 going 4-4 and recording a pair of runners batted in. On the weekend, the senior accounted for six hits on seven at-bats and eight total bases.
On day two, Ariana Rolle delivered three hits and SAU got two each from the bats of
Moctezuma and
Haley Nillen. Nillen recorded an RBI as did
Jenna Huey who launched a home run in the second inning to tie the game at a run apiece.
The Muleriders now look for a bounce-back weekend in Arkadelphia as Southern Arkansas takes on in-state foe Henderson State for the third conference series of 2024. For more on upcoming events, check out
