RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - For the second time this season, Southern Arkansas true freshman
Amelie Gindl has been named the Great American Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week following another big performance from the Mönchhof, Austria native. Gindl won the honor for the first time this spring on February 28.
Gindl went 3-0 in singles play with a trio of straight-sets victories which included a pair of wins over William Jewell and Collin County in her first two efforts of her career at line two. She knocked off #33 Hawai'i Pacific's Sara Hejtmankova in straight sets at line three. After dropping her first singles match of the season, Gindl has rattled off 14-straight singles wins.
In doubles play, Gindl teamed up with
Josie Holderbach and the pair won twice with wins over William Jewell and #33 Hawai'i Pacific.
