PITTSBURG, Kan. – Mulerider Track and Field journeyed to the Sunflower State on Saturday for the Wendy's/Pittsburg State Invitational located on the campus of Pittsburg State University. Southern Arkansas, during its second season competing indoors, took part in its second competition at the Wendy's/PSU Invite. The SAU men finished their Saturday with six men placing in the top-twenty. The Mulerider Women recorded seven finishers within the top-twenty of their respective events.
MEN
Sophomore Wesley Maxwell once again saw the top-15 of the mile run as he recorded an indoor personal-record time of 4:19.08 to place 13th. Christian Johnson recorded a distance of 22' 0.25" in the long jump to place 18th. Ja'Kamron Zackery is back with another impressive performance as he placed 11th in the shot put after throwing for 47' 11.25". The junior followed up in the weight throw with the Mulerider Men's sole top-ten placing due to his throw of 55' 10.25" earning him ninth-place. Trevon Hill claimed a couple more top-20 spots as he placed 19th in shot put (42' 4.75") and 20th in the weight throw (48' 11.75") for a new indoor personal-record.
WOMEN
In the 60-meter dash qualifying round, freshman Kamryn Floyd placed fifth (7.69) to then go on to the prelims and place 11th (7.67). Logan Warren placed 12th among 25 runners in the 3000 meter with her time of 11:05.76. Recording a distance of 17' 5.5" in the long jump was Diamond Brunn as she earned 13th among the competitors. Irieyanna Wilson placed 17th in shot put after recording a throw of 38' 3.25". Kailyn Thomas placed 11th among weight throwers after recording her distance of 50' 5.25". Wilson notched a twentieth-place finish in the contest due to her toss of 48' 6".
