COMMERCE, Texas - In their final tuneup before the Great American Conference Championships, Southern Arkansas' Men's and Women's Track and Field teams posted several top five finishes at the East Texas Quad on Thursday, April 27.
Rozlyne Manor won the 100H at 14.85 to lead three other Muleriders that finished inside the top five.
Kailyn Thomas won the shot put at 41' 3" and placed second in the discus at 134' 1".
Irieyanna Wilson placed second in the shot put at 40' 4.25".
Kaliyah Thompson and
Ashlynn Lane placed in the top five in both hurdle disciplines. Thompson finished third (14.89) in the 100H and Lane placed fifth (15.40). Thompson recorded a second-place time of 1:07.06 in the 400H and Lane followed in third at 1:07.11.
Jordan Collins ran to a pair of third-place finishes in the 200M (24.84) and 400M (57.03).
Kamrin Hooks followed with a fourth-place finish in the 200M (25.55) and a fifth-place result in the 400M (59.09).
Tiffany Wiley concluded a 3-4-5 finish in the 200M (25.63). She also placed second in the 100H (14.87).
Sa'Moriya Walker (12.39) and Tyla Berry (12.56) placed fourth and fifth in the 100M and the two joined Hooks and Collins to win the 4x100 in 48.24.
Diamond Brunn placed third in the triple jump at 36' 7.75".
Ja'Kamron Zackery won the shot put with a final toss of 48' 11.5" and placed second in the discus at 162'.
Trevon Hill finished second in the shot put at 47' 6.5".
Travon Johnson (21.77) and
Bryson Johnson (21.94) placed fourth and fifth, respectively in the 200M.
Glenn Chevis was the top SAU finisher (50.28) in the 400M.
Caleb Sterling (15.05),
Brandon Sofi (15.20) and
Cole Rappaport (15.53) finished second, third and fourth respectively in the 110 Hurdles.
Connor Westhoven (57.06) finished third and
Cole Rappaport (57.36) placed fourth in the 400 Hurdles.
Johnson, Johnson,
Daymien Smith and
Landon Way ran a 41.05 in the 4x100, the fastest in the GAC this season, to win the event. Smith was the top Mulerider to cross in the 100M at 10.58.
In the triple jump,
Peyton Williams (41' 10.5") finished fourth and
Chauncey Blake (41' 8.75") followed in fifth.
