Joseph Boyd win the pole vault (4.40M, 14' 5.25") in his collegiate outdoor debut and sophomore
Ja'Kamron Zackery claim the top spot in the hammer (49.89M, 163' 8").
Southern Arkansas' 4x100 relay team of
Bryson Johnson,
Travon Johnson,
Daymien Smith and
Landon Way blitzed to a second-place finish of 41.09 which stands as the fastest time by a Mulerider 4x1 unit since the 2016 campaign.
Of the nearly three dozen top ten finishes, 14 were inside the top five and six earned a podium finish.
Smith placed third in the 100M event with a personal best effort of 10.78 with B. Johnson on his heels at 10.79 in fourth place. Seven additional Mulerider sprinters competed in the event. B. Johnson was the top Mulerider sprinter in the 200M event. He clocked in at 21.98 for a podium finish of third and a new personal best time. Smith placed ninth in the 200M with a career-best time of 22.30.
Carter Cheek ran to a fifth place finish in the 100M hurdles at 15.24 in his collegiate outdoor debut. Three Muleriders posted sub-59.00 second results in the 400M hurdles paced by
Sid Hampton's seventh-place showing of 58.01.
Six Muleriders tossed the javelin with collegiate rookie
Korbin McAuliffe's fourth-place throw of 46.90M leading the way. It was McAuliffe's first ever outdoor effort in the event for the collegiate rookie.
Keith Smith landed 6.55M in the long jump to place sixth and grabbed a second-place showing in the triple jump with an effort of 13.95M.
The Mulerider Men return to action for the three-day Bisons Invitational hosted by Harding on March 16-18 in Searcy. A multi-event competition begins on Thursday, March 16 with the Invitational starting on Friday, March 17 and running through Saturday. It will give Southern Arkansas a first look inside First Security Stadium which will host the 2023 Great American Conference Championships on May 4-6.
