Sharpe completes 2019-20 coaching staff with hiring of Logan Quinn as assistant coach

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas Men's Basketball Head Coach Andy Sharpe has completed his 2019-20 coaching staff with the addition of Logan Quinn, a former University of Tulsa staffer, to the position of assistant coach. The official announcement came on Monday morning, August 19.

A native of Los Angeles, Quinn began his collegiate playing career at Little Rock in 2010-11 and helped the Trojans to a Sun Belt Conference Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament appearance. After transferring to The Master's University, Quinn graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and physical education.

During his time on staff at Tulsa, Quinn helped the Golden Hurricanes to a 37-26 record in his two seasons which included wins over Oklahoma State, Memphis, UCONN, and Kansas State. Quinn assisted in video edits for scouting reports, on-the-floor coaching, and skill development, as well as day-to-day administrative, practice, and game day responsibilities.

Additionally, Quinn is hailed as a veteran player development coach as he has worked alongside Mike Penberthy, former NBA Player Development Coach of the New Orleans Pelicans and current Los Angeles Lakers shooting coach, in the skill development of NBA players such as Luka Doncic, Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Jrue, Justin, and Aaron Holiday, Frank Jackson, Solomon Hill, Kyle Korver, Joakim Noah, Ben McLemore, Jeff Adrien, Devin Harris, PJ Dozier, and Nigel Hayes.

"Adding Logan to our staff was a big win for us", remarked Sharpe. "He's been around basketball at the highest levels, has worked for some well-respected coaches and programs, and has a familiarity with our conference and state having grown up in Little Rock and having played at UALR."

Quinn's hiring finalizes Sharpe's staff for the 2019-20 campaign after the program faced unfamiliar turnover during the summer. Quinn joins Sharpe and graduate assistant coach Michael Cooper on the sidelines as the Muleriders look to duplicate their success from a productive 2018-19 season.

Sharpe added, "Logan and Coop were really good gets for us. I look forward to watching them put their stamp on our program as we continue to build and elevate our expectations year after year. I know our guys will look forward to working with both Logan and Coop and I'm excited to see the strides we make moving forward."
