edHOUSTON, Texas - The Southern Arkansas Mulerider Track and Field program concluded competition at the indoor Houston Invitational on Saturday evening after competing over the course of the two-day event with a majority NCAA Division I field.
Some of the teams present during the non-scoring meet this past weekend included Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State and Texas Southern.
In all, the program logged 23 top-50 finishes over the course of the two-day meet.
In the men's 5000-meter run,
Cody Fox placed seventh at 15:49.27, while
Doug Palmer came in eleventh with a time of 16:09.08 and
Lane Alexander placed twelfth in 16:09.83.
Karonce Higgins finished in 14
th-place in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.69; three-tenths of a second from a third-place finish.
Jose Guevara placed 26
th in the men's one mile run with a time of 4:28.78, while
Chris Wallace came in 26
th-place in the men's 3000-meter run at 8:58.10.
Rashad Boddie recorded a 6.50 meter result in the men's long jump event.
Tyler Shelton finished in 21
st-place in the men's high jump with a 1.85 meter result.
