SEARCY, Ark. — Mulerider Track & Field has begun its endeavor central Arkansas, as Southern Arkansas began competition at the 2026 Great American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
To begin the week full of competition, action started with the Women's Heptathlon and Men's Decathlon, while also having various other events taking place around the Multi athletes.
Heptathlon Day One
The Mulerider Women have two athletes competing in this season's GAC Heptathlon, as Kendal Fellegy made her SAU debut in the outing, while veteran Anaya Ervin made her final return to the Heptathlon of her career.
For Kendal, she has finished eighth in the 100m Hurdles (15.95 | 720 points), tenth in the High Jump (1.30m | 4' 3.25" | 409 points), ninth in the Shot Put (8.74m | 28' 8" | 447 points), and fifth In the 200m (26.23 | 777 points).
For Anaya, the senior placed sixth in the 100m Hurdles (15.56 | 769 points), fifth in the High Jump (1.54m | 5' 0.75" | 666 points), third in the Shot Put (11.29m | 37' 0.50" | 614 points), and seventh in the 200m (26.83 | 726 points).
Decathlon Day One
The Mulerider Men also have two competitors in the ten-event multi, as Garrett Hughes and Anderson Colley rep the Blue and Gold in the action.
For Garrett, the junior finished ninth in the 100m (11.54 | 744 points), fifth in the Long Jump (6.25m | 20' 6" | 641 points), sixth in the Shot Put (10.70m | 35' 1.25" | 528 points), seventh in High Jump (1.75m | 5' 9" | 585 points), and fourth in the 400m (50.82 | 777 points).
For Anderson, the senior has placed tenth in the 100m (11.81 | 689 points), eleventh in the Long Jump (5.45m | 17' 10.5" | 471 points), tenth in the Shot Put (9.99m | 32' 9.25" | 485 points), seventh in the High Jump (1.75m | 5' 9" | 585 points), and seventh in the 400m (53.98 | 640 points).
Mulerider Women
The Southern Arkansas Women recorded two All-GAC showings, as the group had Ambree Collinsworth claim the title of All-GAC First Team for the second-straight year, while Skyler Phillips tallied her first All-GAC honor with a Second Team finish.
For Ambree, the sophomore accounted for back-to-back second-place finishes in the Javelin Throw, as Collinsworth recorded a mark of 40.93m (134' 3").
For Skyler, the freshman tallied her first All-GAC medal after heaving for 43.08m (141' 4") in the Hammer Throw.
Mulerider Men
The Men in the Blue and Gold finished the day with an All-GAC performance by Jonovan Gamble in the Hammer Throw. The sophomore slung the hammer for 47.81m (156' 10") to place fourth and be named an All-GAC Second Team member.
