RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The Great American Conference announced its weekly awards for track and field, and sweeping the Track Athletes of the Week honors were Muleriders Tiquan Box and Jordan Collins.
A freshman, Box earns his first GAC weekly honor, as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week claimed a first-place finish in the 110m Hurdles with his time of 15.19. In the race, Box outran five Great American Conference athletes. Box also competed in the 200m, finishing in 17th with a time of 22.42.
Senior sprinter, Collins had herself a marvelous weekend in Arkadelphia, as the Huntsville, Texas local won the 200m and 100m dashes. Collins set a personal best in both outings, but also broke a program in the 200m, as she crossed the finish line with a time of 23.94, which also counts as a NCAA DII Provisional Mark and ranks third in the nation. Collins also finished first in the 100m, and finished with a PR of 12.04.
