MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Mulerider Track & Field is back in action, as the unit heads to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the Ouachita Invitational on March 13-14.
Events will begin on Friday, with the hammer throw starting at 3:00 PM, as the men will begin and be followed up by the women. The remainder of the events will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday, as teams will begin the day with the javelin throw. The Muleriders travel with 52 athletes, with there being 22 women and 30 men making the trip.
Mulerider Women
Last time out, at the Harding Invitational, Southern Arkansas had a solid performance, as the Blue and Gold had a first-place finisher in
Diamond Brunn. The senior came out on top in the invite's long jump with a mark of 5.72m (18' 9.25"). Also having solid performances at the meet, and in the long jump were
Bree Kirk and
Carmin Tolliver, as Kirk placed third (5.02m | 16' 5.75") and Tolliver placed fourth (4.95m | 16' 3").
Mulerider Men
For the men at the Harding Invitational, the unit saw an impressive showing from
Christian Johnson in the long jump, as the junior recorded a leap of 6.65m (21' 10") to clinch second-place in the outing. The group also saw a great outing by junior
Chad Blake, as the Rosston, Louisiana local notched a mark of 14.40m (47' 3") to place third in the triple jump.
