MAYETTA, Kan. – The Southern Arkansas Men's Golf team wrapped up play at the Firekeeper Open with a tied 8th-place finish, matching No. 21 Harding in the standings. The three-round event, hosted by Washburn University at Firekeeper Golf Course, saw the Muleriders post a team score of 888 (299-293-296).
Blane Burk led the way for Southern Arkansas, finishing tied for 20th with a total score of 221 (+5) after rounds of 74-73-74, and carding six birdies over the tournament. Wil Griffin followed closely behind, tying for 32nd with a 224 (+8), highlighted by a final-round 73 and five birdies overall.
Will Blake shot a 225 (+9) to finish tied for 37th (74-78-73), while Luke Cote tied for 47th with a 226 (+10) after an impressive second-round 73. Logan McDonald rounded out the Mulerider lineup, placing tied for 61st with a 228 (+12).
Up next for the Muleriders is the Great American Conference Tournament, set for April 21-23 at Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
