FORT SMITH, Ark. – The #47 Southern Arkansas Men's Golf team opened play at the 2025 Great American Conference Championships on Monday with a strong showing at Hardscrabble Country Club, finishing the first round in fourth place.
All five Muleriders placed inside the top 30 individually, highlighted by Logan McDonald, who paced the squad with an even-tempered round of 71 (+1) to sit tied for 7th heading into day two. McDonald's performance featured 10 pars, three birdies, and one eagle.
Blane Burk posted a 73 (+3) to finish the day tied for 16th. He carded 11 pars and picked up a pair of birdies during his round. Right behind him was Will Blake, who turned in a 74 (+4) with 12 pars and two birdies to land in a tie for 20th.
Luke Cote shot a 75 (+5) and is currently tied for 25th after recording 12 pars and a birdie. Rounding out the lineup was Wil Griffin, who registered three birdies on his way to a 76 (+6), placing him tied for 29th.
Southern Arkansas will look to build on their solid start when they return to the course Tuesday morning for round two of the three-day championship event.
