MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas Men's and Women's Golf teams are set to compete in the 2025 Great American Conference Golf Championships, taking place April 21–23 at Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The event features 10 women's programs and nine men's squads.
The Mulerider Women placed 10th in last year's GAC Championship at The Club at Forest Ridge. Emma Hester led the charge with a top-20 individual finish, closing her sophomore campaign with a 78 in the final round to post a 237 total, tying for 16th. Southern Arkansas recorded its best team round (327) on the final day to finish with a total score of 994. Hester contributed two of the team's five birdies in the final round and notched nine pars. Sophomore Aubrey Marx shot an 82 to finish tied for 28th, while Taylor-Rose Hubbard ended the tournament in 45th with a 265.
On the men's side, SAU finished third last year with a combined team score of 907 (+43). Logan McDonald led the Muleriders with a +4 performance, tying for fourth individually. Collin Spangler turned in a solid effort, shooting a 78 in the final round.
Heading into this year's championship, several Muleriders received GAC recognition for their performances throughout the season.
Logan McDonald was named to the All-GAC First Team after a standout season. Ranked No. 148 nationally and No. 18 in the Central Region, McDonald owns a 72.8 scoring average. He captured his first collegiate tournament victory at the Arkansas Collegiate and was named GAC Golfer of the Week for his efforts in leading the team to a runner-up finish.
Blane Burk earned All-GAC Second Team honors. Burk, ranked No. 161 nationally and No. 20 regionally, boasts a 72.7 scoring average and three top-20 finishes this spring, including a tie for third at the Arkansas Collegiate.
The Muleriders also excelled in the classroom. Will Blake, Luke Cote, Stewart Druin, and Colby Light were named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll on the men's side, while Aubrey Marx represented the Mulerider Women on the Academic Honor Roll.
