PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Southern Arkansas indoor Track and Field team competed at the 10th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic this weekend. The team's performance was highlighted by Keith Smith's provisional mark in the triple jump.
In the women's events, Ashlynn Dickey tied for seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.55m, while Diamond Brunn placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.61m. In the weight throw, three Muleriders finished back-to-back, with Kailyn Thomas (16.15m) taking 12th place, followed by Irieyanna Wilson (15.93m) in 13th, and Keyonce Brown (15.67m) in 14th.
On the men's side, Keith Smith recorded a provisional mark in the triple jump, securing a fifth-place finish with a leap of 14.62m. Derrick Onyeador also competed in the event and placed 14th with a jump of 13.50m. Onyeador also placed 11th in the long jump (6.99m).
Joe Duirden Placed 11th in the 800m run with a time of 1:54.69. In the pole vault events, Landry Leigh finished fifth in the invite division, clearing 4.48m, while Joseph Boyd took 12th in the open division with a 4.15 vault.
In throws, Jason Patrick delivered a strong showing in the shot put, placing 10th with a best throw of 16.86m.
Southern Arkansas has concluded its indoor season and is now gearing up for the start of the outdoor season.
