MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Mulerider Men's Golf team with Head Coach Neriah Brown is set to open the 2024 fall campaign on Monday (Sep. 16) and Tuesday (Sep. 17) at the Northeastern Men's Classic hosted by Northeastern State at the Muskogee Country Club.
The Muleriders participated in this event last year where they came out with an impressive start to the season and finished third in a tough 17-team field as they recorded a total of 855 (+3) strokes.
Senior Logan McDonald, a GAC All-Tournament team member in the spring, placed 14th with a total of 216 (+3) strokes in last year's NSU Men's Classic. McDonald recorded 11 birdies, which included six in his final round, and he finished with a total of 30 made pars.
Junior Will Blake went even in rounds one and three which placed him at 22nd with a three-round total of 281 (+5). Blake's opening round included half of his eight birdies of the tournament and he made par 33 times.
Collin Spangler finished with a total of 225 (+12) strokes as he recorded four birdies and shot par 36 times.
Southern Arkansas will match up against the University of Central Missouri, Southeastern Oklahoma, Northwestern Oklahoma, Northeastern State, Fort Hayes State, Arkansas-Monticello, Rogers State, Southwestern Oklahoma, Arkansas Tech, Henderson State, Harding, Southern Nazarene, Arkansas-Fort Smith, Missouri Western, Seminole State College, and Newman.
The NSU Men's Classic kicks off on Monday (Sep. 16) and finishes on Tuesday (Sep. 17).
