Logan McDonald matched his round one effort with a 73 on Tuesday to finish at +4 for the tournament and tied for fourth with a 220 and seniors
Caleb Miller (T6; +6) and
Connor Harrington (T11; +9) followed closely behind as Southern Arkansas placed its top trio inside the top 15 and finished third as a team (907, +43) at the Great American Conference Championship following 54-hole action from the par-72, 6,826-yard course at The Club of Forest Ridge.
McDonald used a three-birdie round to finish at +1 and earn a placement on the GAC All-Tournament team. Miller placed two strokes back of McDonald after shooting a 76 highlighted by birdies to close out the final hole of each nine. Harrington matched his round two score as his 76 gave him a 225 for the tournament and a top 15 result.
True freshman
Collin Spangler birdied No. 9 for the second-straight round and added 11 made pars as he shot a 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 32
nd at 240. Junior
Wil Griffin II shot an 87 in is first round of postseason action for SAU making seven pars.
The Muleriders recorded a tournament-best 151 pars with 29 birdies which sets a new single-season program record for one-unders with 369. SAU was one of six teams to finish under par in par-5 scoring as they did so with a collective -5. Harrington led the squad in par-3 scoring at +1 with Miller and McDonald both at +2. The trio all shot +9 on par-4 holes and McDonald led the tournament field in par-5 scoring at -7.
Harrington led the tournament field in pars made with 38, Miller followed with 37 and McDonald notched 29 and a team-best ten birdies with an eagle. Spangler finished with 25 pars and
Colby Light produced 15 pars across the first two rounds. The two combined for seven birdies. Miller registered seven birdies and Harrington chipped in with five.
