MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The sun showed up and so did the Muleriders. Southern Arkansas produced solid showings in both the men's and women's competitions combining for fifty podium finishes and 18 event wins on Saturday at the Dan Veach Invitational. The SAU Women recorded 20 top three finishes and six event wins with the Mulerider Men earning 30 top three placements and a dozen event wins.
Kamryn Floyd won the 100M event with a time of 12.20 and finished second in the 200M behind Jordan Collin's winning time of 24.42. Devlin Rivera led four other runners in the 100H with a first-place time of 14.69. Collins' time in the 200M is the fastest by a Mulerider in the event this spring.
SAU's 4x100 relay team of Edriana Hunter, Floyd, Wil'Lexis Beaver and Collins won over Southeastern Oklahoma with a finish of 47.07.
Alexis Matlock and Anaya Ervin each hit 1.55m in the high jump with Matlock claiming the title. Kailyn Thomas tossed 43.04 in the discus to beat the 12-thrower field. Four of her tosses in the discus stand as the furthest by an SAU thrower in the early going of the spring slate. She placed second in the hammer throw by a foot.
Rachel Solano recorded the fastest 1500M time by a Mulerider with a time of 5:18.09. Issah Traylor hit 11.14m in the triple jump for the furthest landing by an SAU female in the event this spring.
Wesley Maxwell raced to a top time in the 1500M at 4:05.55. Jeremy Jackson won the 110H at 17.03 and Eule Ford claimed the 400H at 1:00.08 in the first running of the event by a Mulerider this spring.
SAU's 4x100 of Bryson Johnson, Dezmand Bryant, Keith Smith and Trysten Richey raced to a time of 41.58 to win the event. The 4x400 team of Dorian Pressley, Johnny Woods, Connor Westhoven and Ford won with 3:30.64.
Jackson doubled up with event wins as he claimed the high jump at 1.88m; the highest mark by a Mulerider this spring. Joseph Boyd won the pole vault at 4.25m and has the top three marks in the event so far this spring. Derrick Onyeador was the top finisher in the long jump at 6.77m.
Ja'Kamron Zackery won the shot put (15.28m) and hammer (51.23m) and Jason Patrick delivered the farthest throw in the discus at 48.94. Zackery's shot put mark is the best by an SAU thrower this spring and Patrick finished with the top two discus efforts this season. Korbin McAuliffe won the javelin at 44.85m.
Bryson Johnson produced the fastest 200M time by a Mulerider this spring at 21.67.
