HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Mulerider Men's Golf team bounced back from last week's tournament and finished second overall in the fifteen-team field by shooting one-under-par at Henderson State's Battle for the Belt in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 86 golfers competed over 54 holes at the par-72, 6,713-yard Arlington Course at Hot Springs Country Club. Southern Arkansas showed a steady performance overall, with three Muleriders finishing in the field's top-fifteen.

After day one of competition with the first 36 holes, the Muleriders placed 4th shooting five-under-par. The team had a steady performance during all three rounds going 863 (-1) overall (290, 281, 292), and moved up two spots during the last round to claim their runner-up spot in the tournament.

Senior
Alex Gerrard had the best placement for the Muleriders as he shot 72-69-72 going 213 (-3) overall, shooting par 37 times and recording 11 birdies. Once rounds one and two were completed the Canadian saw himself tied for eighth in the very competitive 86-golfer field and managed to keep his strong performance during the final round to climb up two spots and finish tied for sixth.

Logan McDonald was only one stroke behind Gerrard and also showed off a great performance shooting two-under-par during rounds one and two, going even 32 times as well as recording 11 birdies and 1 eagle. His overall score of 214 (-2) (70-70-74) tied McDonald for ninth.

Freshman
Blane Burk was the third Mulerider to claim a spot within the field's top-fifteen by going even for 216 (E) after shooting 73-71-72 and recorded 30 pars and 14 birdies. Just like Gerrard, Burk climbed up two spots after day one going from tied for fifteenth to finish as tied for thirteenth.

Will Blake shot par 33 times and recorded 11 birdies, finishing tied for eighteenth with an overall score of 217 (+1) and going 76-69-72 during the three rounds. Will Griffin II placed 33rd, consistently shooting two-over-par during all three rounds and finished with an overall score of 222 (+6).
Luke Cote went 73-71-81 during the three rounds and tied for 39th with an overall score of 225 (+9).
