MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Mulerider Women's Basketball hits the road for their first time of 2023 and just before the break that everyone gives thanks for. Southern Arkansas leaves Columbia County for Memphis, Tennessee as they look to take on former Gulf South Conference opponent, the Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneers today at 5 p.m.
The Muleriders enter today's matchup with a 4-0 record and are averaging 94.8 points (1st GAC | 3rd nationally) per game with each game going 80+ and two of which surpassed the century mark. SAU also ranks first in the conference in many other categories such as, rebounds per game (49.25 | 7th nationally), offensive rebounds per game (22.5 | 5th nationally), scoring margin (42.5 | 3rd nationally), steals per game (24.8 | 1st nationally), turnover margin (17.75 | 2nd nationally), and turnovers forced per game (38.25 | 1st nationally).
TOP PERFORMERS
Southern Arkansas ranks nine players within the top 20 of the Great American Conference in steals with sophomore guard Marlee Bright at the top of the league with 15 steals (11th nationally. The 'Riders also rank eight of those players inside GAC top 15 in steals per game with Bright at the top of the conference again with 3.75 (17th nationally). Diamond Morris leads SAU in field goals made as number 23 has knocked down 23 baskets (3rd GAC). She also ranks fourth in the conference in field goal percentage with 56.1. Addy Tremie is fourth in the GAC in three pointers made as she has seen nine of her shots from long range make a splash in the goal. Sihirah Reese is currently fifth in the league in offensive rebounds per game as she has averaged 3.0 rebounds on the offensive side per game.

The Lady Bucs are still in search for their initial victory of the young campaign as they have lost to Barry University 46-76, Lynn University 57-80, and Harding 58-84.
The last meeting between these two saw the Muleriders take their 16th triumph over CBU as SAU won 88-83. Southern Arkansas leads the overall series against the Lady Bucs 16-13 and this matchup will mark just the second time since SAU left the Gulf South Conference that these two programs clash.
Christian Brothers rank third in the GSC in free throw percentage (76.4 | 49th nationally), fourth in turnovers forced per game (16.33), fifth in steals per game (7.3), fifth in blocks per game (2.7), fifth in free throws made per game (14), and seventh in rebounds per game (34).
In the conference, Jeremia Montgomery ranks second in free throws (22 | 34th nationally), third in free throw attempts (26 | 42nd nationally) and offensive rebounds per game (3.3), fourth in blocks per game (1.00), fifth in free throw percentage (84.6), steals per game (3.00), and blocks (3), sixth in steals (9), seventh in rebounds per game (7.7), and tenth in assists/turnover ratio (2.5).
