Marlee Bright was announced as an All-Great American Conference Honorable Mention for her first All-GAC honor in the Blue and Gold. Bright was also recognized as a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete for the second-straight season. Being named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll are
Shiloh Fletcher,
Bella Frisby, and
Kadia Ward.
Marlee Bright | All-GAC Honorable Mention/Elite Scholar Athlete
The senior from Glenwood, Arkansas earned her recognition in the conference, as the Mulerider point guard boasts a senior season with four broken program records for the Blue and Gold. To cap off her career, Bright is now the holder of five program records, those being single-season assists (142), career assists (380), single-game steals (11), single-season steals (92), and career steals (274). In her final year for Southern Arkansas, Bright led the GAC in multiple statistical categories, such as assist/turnover ratio (2.78 | 4
th DII), steals (92 | 13
th DII), and steals per game (3.29 | 15
th DII). The Arkansan is also second in the league for assists (114) and assists per game (4.1). Marlee is also named a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete for the second-straight season, as the senior went on to record a perfect 4.00, and has graduated with her bachelor's degree in physical education and health K-12. Bright now plans on working toward a master's degree in kinesiology.
