Harrington brings home first GAC weekly honor of career

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark –The Great American Conference released their weekly golf honors and making his career-debut on the list was Connor Harrington after his performance at the Tulsa Cup on Monday and Tuesday.

Harrington, native of Magnolia, Arkansas, secured the title for the first time in his collegiate career since joining the Southern Arkansas Golf team in 2019 as a freshman. He was rewarded the honor due to his stellar performance in the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State University.

The senior claimed all-tournament honors after tying for third following a 54-hole effort of 212 (74-69-69). The Magnolia native is no stranger to nice results this fall as his second and third round scores give him five rounds of 69 and nine total rounds at par or better. He finished one par back of the tournament leader after notching 38 over 54 holes. Harrington produced the Mulerider's sole eagle on a par-5, 539-yd No. 1 during his final round. The Columbia County native recorded nine birdies for Southern Arkansas en route to a career best finish.

Harrington and his team will return for the 2024 fall season looking to see the same, if not better, success that was produced last spring. For more information on Mulerider Golf and other sports, check out www.MuleriderAthletics.com or look us up @muleridersports on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
