HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – With the final day of the Great American Conference Championship at a close the Southern Arkansas University Men's Golf fired a 291 giving them a combined score of 896 for the tournament. SAU finished the GAC Championships in 6
th place.
Senior
Roman Timmerman earned a top-10 finish after he led the team on day three with 73. The Canadian Senior had a total combined score of 220 placing tied for 9th in the tournament. Freshmen
Caleb Miller fired a 72 in the round three of the final day, he had a total combined score 225 placing tied for 21st place in the tournament. Miller was able to shave three strokes off his round two score by improving on holes 13 & 14. In round two he bogeyed hole-13 and pared hole-14, then in round three he birdied hole-13 and pared hole-14.
Freshmen
Logan McDonald fired a 70 in round three of the final day, and he had a total combined score of 228 placing 26th in the tournament. The Freshmen was able to shave two strokes off his round two score by paring on all holes with the exception of hole and hole-18. Sophomore
Connor Harrington shot a 77 in round three of the final day, he had a total combined score of 229 placing tied for 27th place in the tournament. Freshmen
Tyler Garrett shot a 76 in round three of the final day, he had a total combined score of 231 placing tied for 31st in the tournament.
Highlights from the tournament include Timmerman shooting a +2 in all par 3 scoring opportunities and Timmerman shooting a -6 in all par-five scoring opportunities, and both of these stats are in the top half of the leaderboard. Miller fired a +6 in all par-four scoring opportunities and this stat is in the top half of the leaderboard. Harrington led the team in pars with a total of 36 and Timmerman led the team in birdies with a total of 11.
