RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the fifth time this season, Southern Arkansas right hander
Jeremy Adorno is the Great American Conference's Pitcher of the Week. The first-year Mulerider becomes the second player in the program's GAC history to earn five weekly honors from the league joining All-American Trevor Rucker who garnered five GAC Player of the Week honors from 2014-17. His five honors this campaign are the second most by a pitcher in a single season in GAC history.
Adorno remained unbeaten and earned his tenth win of the season after working eight innings in a 6-0 road win over Harding. He was perfect through five innings as he tallied seven strikeouts during that time frame which included retiring the side via K in the fourth. He finished with 11 strikeouts, while only allowing five base runners via three hits and a pair of walks to face just four over the minimum.
A native of Kissimmee, Florida, Adorno adds Monday's honor to pitcher of the week awards received on
February 9,
February 15,
February 22, and
March 7.
