Searcy, Ark. – The SAU Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed for the third time this spring this weekend at the NextEra Energy Bison Relays, hosted by Harding.
At the meet, the Muleriders claimed nine event victories, with a trio of women claiming wins and seven Mulerider men taking home top honors.
Fresh off being named GAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week,
Kobe Gill won the high jump for the second successive meet, winning with a mark of 1.92 meters.
Alexis Matlock won the high jump on the women's side with a jump of 1.63 meters.
Chauncey Blake was the final Mulerider to win a field event, winning the triple jump with a distance of 12.89 meters.
Cecilia Quesada and
Rozlyne Manor won their respective events on the track. Quesada took the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:02.85 seconds and Manor won the 400 meter hurdles in 1:08.61 seconds.
Gill, for the second week in a row, also took the 100 meter sprint with a time of 10.72. The Muleriders swept the podium places in that event, with
Christian Mosley finishing second at 10.82 seconds and
Kyeran Monroe finishing third at 10.83 seconds.
The duo of
Davian Burroughs and
George Robinson took first and second in the 400-meter dash at 50.73 seconds and 51.99 seconds, respectively.
Samuel Salinas won the 1500 meter sprint with a time of 4:20.64 seconds and the men's 4x100 meter relay took their run with a time of 41.65 seconds.
The Muleriders are back in action next weekend when they host the Dan Veach Invitational.
