Shawnee, Okla. – The SAU Women's Track and Field team finished competition at the GAC Championships, taking home third place behind champions Harding and second-place hosts Oklahoma Baptist.
Courtney Williams showed up and showed out at the GAC Championships, winning the high jump with a 1.67-meter mark. She also won the triple jump with a jump of 11.77 meters and came in second in the long jump behind teammate
Adrianna Tillman, with both athletes reaching 5.69 meters; however, Tillman took first based on having less wind on her jump.
In addition to her hammer throw win yesterday,
T'Keyah Crockett took top honors in the discus with a throw of 46.60 meters. The mark is a DII Provisional mark and bested her 2018 GAC record throw of 43.14 meters.
Chassidy Jermany and
Annie Oliver finished second and fourth in the triple jump with marks of 11.57 meters and 11.09 meters, respectively.
Carley Hale took home a pair of top-five finishes – fourth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:19.93 and fifth in the high jump with 1.62 meters.
Laquesta Kindle took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.46 second, and
Chantaya Griffin finished 4
th in the 400-meters with a time of 57.06 seconds
Quantiesha Coats took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.43 meters.
The Muleriders are in competition next weekend at the Leon Johnson Invitational hosted by Northwestern State.
