MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The first full day of action for the Southern Arkansas Lady Muleriders at the 2018 Great American Conference Championships was highlighted by sophomore multi-athlete Emily Potts finishing in third-place in the heptathlon with a program record 3,945 points and senior thrower T'Keyah Crockett earning the team 16 total points including ten first-place points with a GAC Championship Meet record throw of 141' 6" in the discus.

SAU is currently in third place and 24 points back of Oklahoma Baptist for second place and 29 points back of first place Harding. Freshman distance runner Karly Anderson, in her first official 10000 Meter run, placed sixth in the event to earn one point.

Potts' program record in the heptathlon came as a result of the sophomore adding another second-place finish; this time in the long jump with a wind-aided personal best mark of 16' 1" (+2.6w). She finished 100 points back of second place.

Crockett produced an additional six points for Southern Arkansas in the hammer throw as she logged a personal best toss of 144' 11".

Due to their finishing in the Top 3, Crockett (discus, hammer) and Potts (heptathlon) earned All-GAC First-Team honors in their respective events, while Anderson was tabbed an All-GAC Second-Team runner in the 10000 meter event.

Saturday's action will begin as originally scheduled at 10 a.m. However, due to a loss of daylight on Friday evening, the javelin event, previously scheduled for Friday, will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday. For the full meet schedule, visit here.
