SAU Men's Basketball looks to end 2018 with win at Arkansas Tech

Russellville, Ark. - The Muleriders hit the road for their final game of 2018 as they travel up to Russellville to take on Arkansas Tech. The Muleriders come into this matchup off an eight-point victory over Ouachita on the weekend. The Muleriders currently sit in third in the conference standings, tied with four other teams.

The Wonder Boys are currently 0-3 in conference, off the heels of a three-point loss at Arkansas-Monticello over the weekend. The Wonder Boys could count themselves as a little unlucky, as all three of their conferences losses have come by a combined nine points.

Arkansas Tech are led by R.J. Glasper, who leads the team in scoring at 19.9 points per game. Glasper is shooting 33.9 percent from the field and 26 percent from behind the arc in 36.4 minutes of action. Glasper also leads the team in assists with 46, free throw attempts with 33, steals with nine and turnovers with 23.

Will Adler, who leads the conference in three-pointers made, and Alex Brown lead the team on the glass, with 7.4 and 6.0 rebounds per game, respectively. As a team, the Wonder Boys lead the GAC in three-point attempts, with 305 attempts in eight games played. That averages out to 25.5 attempts per game. The 305 attempts is 61 ahead of the next school, Southern Arkansas with 244 attempts in nine games.

The past few games for the Muleriders has seen the emergence of Jalen Brooks. The freshman from Shreveport currently ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.7 points per game off the bench. Brooks has also proven to be a defensive weapon, ranking second on the team in blocks (12), only five behind older brother DeVante's 17 blocks.

DeVante Brooks, in addition to leading the team in clocks, also leads the team in rebounding (9.0 rpg) as well as being the team's fourth-highest scorer with 10.3 points per game.

The Muleriders return to action on January 2nd for a pair of road conference games in Oklahoma.
