MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas men's golf team is prepared to play in the 2017 Great American Conference Men's Golf Championships this coming Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. The three-day event will see the men's field play the par-72, 6,713-yard Arlington Course.
The scoring lineup that the Muleriders send to the links will be
Kyle Gordon (1),
Kade Johnson (2),
Kevin Elder (3),
Dalton Johnson (4), and
Calum Graham (5). All five of those golfers will carry scoring averages in the 70s into the tournament.
Gordon, a senior from Whitby, Ontario, sports the lowest average at 75.8 strokes per round, but the Muleriders are a consistently similar lineup as the highest average after Gordon is a mere two strokes off pace at 77.6.
The Muleriders enter the championship tournament having competed in four events this spring and have posted a team scoring average of 304.8 in that time. SAU's best team finish this spring was a tie for fifth-place at the 12-team Natural State Classic held at the Red Apple Inn Country Club. At that event, all five of the golfers in the lineup shot in the 70s each round and in the second round, the team posted its lowest score of the spring with a 290.
On Saturday, prior to the start of the tournament, the All-GAC Teams will be announced and the entirety of the championships will have Live Scoring available through Golfstat at the following link:
