Box Score

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas men's basketball team could seemingly score at-will on Monday night as they turned in a season-best 62% field goal percentage from the floor en route to blowing past Central Baptist College by a score of 104-72.

In the first half alone, the Muleriders (3-4) shot 67% as they knocked down 18-of-27 shots. Three of those made field goals were from beyond the arc as the Muleriders were just heating up from downtown.

In the second half, the Muleriders' overall shooting percentage would take a slight hit, but they still shot an impressive 59% (23-of-39) over the final 20 minutes. The higher volume of shots taken in the second half also resulted in more points as they poured in 59 to run away with the game and reach the century-mark in scoring for the second time this season.

27 of those second-half points would come from three-point range as the Muleriders caught fire from deep, draining 9-of-18 trifectas. The 12 total three-pointers in the game were a season-high for the Muleriders.

Spearheading the Muleriders' potency from deep was junior guard Nemo Sanchez. For the game, the Pasadena, Texas native was nearly lights out, draining six of his seven tries from beyond the arc. Sanchez would also lead all scorers with 22 points.

Six other Muleriders would join Sanchez in double figures as Alre'k Brown and Jeffrey Walker were next in scoring with 18 points apiece. Tyrell Taylor would follow with a 14-point effort while Tre'Von Wilkerson added 12 points of his own. DeAndre Scott and Reece Dunlap wrapped up scoring with 10 points each.

Brown, a dominant figure inside on Monday night, hauled in a season-high 17 rebounds (10 defensive, seven offensive) as he secured his third double-double of the season. Brown was also a force blocking shots as he swatted away six for the game. The six blocks is the third time this season that Brown has recorded six or more blocks.

The Muleriders will now look to build off of this win as they will jump back into conference play on Thursday and Saturday of this week. Both are road games in Arkadelphia beginning with a clash against Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m.
