EMPORIA, Kan. — Day one at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships has wrapped up. In day one for the Blue and Gold, the unit was spotlighted by seniors Diamond Brunn and Jordan Collins.
For Brunn, the Killeen, Texas local once more competed in the Long Jump, as she claimed the 2025 title of First Team All-American at last season's national meet. To cap off her collegiate career in the event, Diamond finished in 22nd with her distance of 5.42m (17' 9.5").
For Collins, the native of Huntsville, Texas aimed to clinch a spot on Saturday for the 100m, as Jordan made her nationals debut in the event's preliminary round. While she was the last name added to the start list, Collins did not let that stop her, as the senior finished in 18th with her time of 12.00. Jordan will still be in the hunt for a spot on Saturday in her 200m preliminary tomorrow (Friday), as the top eight from the event qualify for the final round. Collins will be the lone Mulerider in competition tomorrow in the 200m prelim, which is scheduled to start at 5:45 PM.
