RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference has once again announced its weekly softball honors, and once again,
Emma Duncan has claimed the title of Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week after another superb weekend of work.
Claiming her fourth Pitcher of the Week honor, the grad student played in all three games against Arkansas-Monticello, while starting in two and completing one. The Canadian recorded a 0.00 earned run average and allowed no runs for the weekend in her 13.2 innings of work. Emma managed to fan 16 batters while also surrendering just an opposing batting average of .111. In all three games, Duncan went on to claim the victory, moving her to 25-2 on the season.
After another incredible weekend, Duncan has now decreased her season ERA to 1.39, which remains the GAC's best ERA and is ninth in Division II. She has also increased her strikeout total with 188 this campaign and continues to reign as the conference leader (9
th DII). The Canadian also leads the GAC in statistical metrics such as games started (29 | 3
rd DII), hits allowed per seven innings (4.05 | 4
th DII), innings pitched (181.1 | 6
th DII), shutouts (8 | 4
th DII), strikeouts per seven innings (7.3), WHIP (0.89 | 6
th DII), and victories (25 | 2
nd DII).
