SAU Notables
>>> Following an impactful weekend across the GAC, the Muleriders are now tied for first-place in the league, as SAU is tied with Oklahoma Baptist and Arkansas Tech. All three now sit at 20-4 in the league, with the Bison and Golden Suns set to play this weekend. The Blue and Gold come off winning their eighth GAC series this season, which was added on after sweeping East Central while in Magnolia last weekend for the group's fourth series sweep of the campaign. Last season, when the Muleriders and Savage Storm met, Southeastern Oklahoma State upset the Muleriders in game one of the series, as SE snapped Team 27's 27-game winning streak (led the NCAA). Southern Arkansas went on to storm back against the Savage Storm by winning the series with triumphs in games two and three.

>>> The Muleriders continue to dominate with the bats in the GAC, as Southern Arkansas leads the league in numerous offensive categories. The unit sits atop the league rankings for categories such as batting average (.352 | 9th DII), doubles (71), hits (405 | 14th DII), on-base percentage (.441 | 8th DII), runs batted in (268 | 10th DII), RBI per game (6.38 | 14th DII), scoring per game (6.86 | 18th DII), and total runs (288 | 13th DII).

>>> Individually, for Team 28 at the plate, the group has multiple leaders across the offense. Leading the way for batting average and hits, Maddie Leal has accumulated an average of .454 (2nd GAC) and leads the league with 59 hits. With the most RBIs this season for SAU, America Rubio has tallied 46 runs batted in and ranks second in the GAC. Rubio currently leads the league in RBI per game, averaging 1.35 (14th DII). Leading the Muleriders in runs scored is Sophia Luetticke, as the Show Me State local has plated 49 runs and ranks 12th in Division II.

>>> Southern Arkansas' pitching staff still sits out in front of the league, with the unit ranking first in earned run average (2.07 | 14th DII), hits allowed per seven innings (5.58 | 10th DII), and shutouts (10 | 11th DII).

>>> The staff has been primarily led by grad student Emma Duncan, a native of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Canada. Duncan is currently the Great American Conference's leader in multiple categories from the circle, as the Canadian leads in ERA (1.52 | 16th DII), complete games (15 | 24th DII), hits allowed per seven innings (4.16 | 7th DII), innings pitched (156.2 | 5th DII), shutouts (7 | 2nd DII), and strikeouts (160 | 8th DII).

SE Notables
>>> The Savage Storm enters the weekend looking to claim their fifth GAC series win this season, while also having a bounce-back weekend, as the unit comes off losing their last series on the road against Arkansas-Monticello. The Cotton Blossoms ended up winning games one and two of that series by final scores of 8-1 and 12-4 (5 inn.).

>>> SE has been solid at the plate this season, ranking third in the GAC with a .297 average. The group also ranks third in the league for hits accounted for, with 350. The main reason for those numbers has been Susan Edwards, as the sophomore is leading the group in hits with 58, ranking second in the conference. Bringing the power at the plate for the Savage Storm is once again India McMurray. The senior from Dallas leads the group in home runs this season, while also ranking second in the GAC with 13 home runs (9th DII).

>>> In the circle, Southeastern Oklahoma ranks tenth in the GAC for staff ERA, with the group having an earned run average of 4.27. The group's lead pitcher so far this season is Alyson Malone, a junior from Pottsboro, Texas. Malone leads the groups in multiple categories, such as ERA (2.68 | 9th GAC), complete games (8 | 7th GAC), shutouts (3 | 4th GAC), innings pitched (94.0 | 12th GAC), strikeouts (77), and opposing batting average (.241).
