Muleriders Prepped Road Series With NWOSU Rangers

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The seventh-ranked Muleriders (23-2 | 8-1 GAC) are ready to ride, as the unit preps for the long trip to Alva, Oklahoma, where Team 28 will face the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers (8-15 | 2-7 GAC) for the squad's fourth GAC series.

That is not all that Team 28 leads the league in, as SAU is also the statistical leaders for doubles hit (46 | 10th DII), doubles per game (1.84), hits (251 | 3rd DII), on-base percentage (.457 | 6th DII), runs batted in (174 | 4th DII), runs batted in per game (6.96 | 5th DII), scoring offense (7.56 | 6th DII), shutouts (5 | 15th DII), total runs (189 | 5th DII), total sacrifice flies (12 | 7th DII), triples hit (7), triples per game (0.28), WHIP (1.16 | 22nd DII), and walks drawn (110 | 3rd DII).
>>> Southern Arkansas has seen production from all around the lineup and within the pitching staff. Leading the Muleriders in batting average is Maddie Leal, as the grad student is accounting for a .507 batting average, which ranks second in the GAC. The Houston native also leads the group in hits recorded with 37 (2nd GAC | 11th DII), walks with 22, and walks per game (0.88 | 2nd GAC | 24th DII). While she does not lead the team in hits, Sophia Luetticke leads the group in runs scored with 32, which ranks first in the league and second in the nation. In the circle, SAU has two-time GAC Pitcher of the Week Emma Duncan in the circle, who is leading the GAC in multiple pitching categories. Those categories include complete games (8 | 14th DII), hits allowed per seven innings (3.81 | 14th DII), innings pitched (82.2 | 8th DII), shutouts (4 | 2nd DII), and strikeouts (90 | 4th DII).
 
NWOSU Notables
>>> The Rangers are coming off sweeping the Newman University Jets in a non-conference doubleheader on Monday, as Northwestern Oklahoma defeated NU 5-4 and 3-1. Before that, the Rangers went 1-2 against Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central. Before those two series, NWOSU was swept on the road by Arkansas Tech. The group is still in search of its first conference series win this season.
>>> Leading the unit in batting average has been Delaynie Esterly, as the sophomore is recording an average of .304. Kaylee Madden leads the unit in hits recorded, as she has recorded 17 hits and a .270 average. The group's leader in scoring has been Kaitlyn Corn with 10 runs plated, as well as nine batted in.
>>> The Rangers currently house the league's leader in earned run average, as Chloe Brown has recorded a 1.36 ERA and ranks 27th in DII. The senior has had an impressive campaign, as she has pitched 36.0 innings, three complete games, and has allowed just 23 hits, seven earned runs, and eight walks. The squad's top strikeout recorder has been junior Katy Jones with a team-high 23 strikeouts, while also accounting for a 3.32 ERA over 46.1 innings and six complete games.
