MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Muleriders baseball team is set to make their first road trip of the season as they head to Cleveland, Mississippi for a midweek meeting with the Delta State University Statesmen on Tuesday, February 10th. First Pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

>>> The Muleriders got back on track this weekend picking up two wins and collecting their first series win of the season against Maryville University last weekend. The Muleriders fell in game one of the series, but the bats got hot at the plate in the Saturday double header collecting 18 hits in the last two games of the series. The Muleriders also continued their home run hitting ways as they have homered in all six games played this season.
>>> The Muleriders had several bright spots in the lineup this weekend as
Wyatt Fielding batting .700 over the course of three games. Fielding totaled three RBI, five runs scored, two doubles, one home run and 12 total bases while slugging 1.200 with two walks. He also totaled a .750 on base percentage.
>>> Michael Herndon was also a big bright spot in the lineup going 6-for-12 in three games totaling, two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, and four runs scored.
>>> Fielding currently leads the offense for the Muleriders with a .474 batting average followed by
Michael Herndon with a .348 average and
Jordan Owns with a .286 average. Herndon also leads the team in homeruns with three so far.
>>> Wes Cunningham leads the way for the pitching staff with his 3.52 qualifying ERA.
Carter Gaston leads the pack in strikeouts with nine which all came in his start on Friday.
Delta State Notables
>>> The Statesmen come into the meeting with a 2-1 overall record after seeing their first three scheduled games against Harding University postponed due to lingering weather last week. Delta State won their first series of the season against Spring Hill College taking the first two games of the series and dropping game three.
>>> Levi Lang leads the way for the offense with a .500 batting average followed by Austin Estes at .444 and Jacob Hill at .346. So far the Statesmen have not hit any home runs but Bo Rock leads the way in doubles with two.
>>> Blake King leads the way on the mound for the Statesmen as he boasts a 1.59 ERA through 5.2 innings of work. Adrian Byrd leads the way in strikeouts with eight through five innings of work.
