>>> SAU is coming off a weekend that saw them struggle against the 16th-ranked Pittsburg State Gorillas in their first action of the season. The Muleriders were scheduled to begin their season at the Dugan Invitational, but due to weather, they instead pivoted to a home series with Pittsburg State
 
>>> Despite the offensive struggles last weekend, the Muleriders saw success from Wyatt Fielding. In his first action with the Muleriders, Fielding finished his weekend 3-for-9 at the plate, totaling two runs, one double, and one home run. His home run came in his first-ever at-bat with the Blue and Gold. In total, he totaled seven total bases, two walks, a .455 OBP, .778 slugging percentage, and 1.233 OPS.
 
>>> Nate June was also a bright spot for the Muleriders on the mound. June came on in relief and threw 4.2 innings of work, allowing four hits and two runs, only one of which was earned. June also struck out two hitters while opponents hit .267 against him. June finished the weekend with a 1.93 ERA
 
>>> Three Muleriders hit home runs last weekend as Wyatt Fielding, Jacob Lang, and Michael Herndon all hit a home run in their first series wearing the Blue and Gold.
 
Maryville Notables
>>> This weekend's series will be the first action of the year for Maryville. Last season, the Saints recorded a 29-22 overall finish and were 21-10 in conference play. The Saints also went two and out in the GLVC tournament last season to end the year.
 
>>> The Saints return three starters from last year's squad. Jace Burton returns this season after ending last year as the top hitter for Maryville. Burton started in 41 games while playing in 42, finishing with a .380 batting average. He totaled 49 hits in 129 at-bats, four doubles, three triples, one home run, 18 RBI, 62 total bases, .481 slugging percentage, 21 walks, and a .468 on-base percentage.
 
>>> Dominic Sharp also returns for Maryville, finishing last season with a .303 batting average, going 44-for-145 with 13 doubles, one triple, five home runs, and a .448 on-base percentage.
